1. Acceptance Of Terms
By booking a surf lesson, renting a board, purchasing a board, or otherwise using any service from Da Hui Surf School ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Bookings & Deposits
Surf lesson bookings require a non-refundable $20 USD deposit at the time of reservation. The remaining balance is paid in person before your session. Board rentals do not require a deposit but must be paid in full at pickup.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
You may reschedule a lesson at no charge with at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled time forfeit the deposit. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule sessions due to unsafe surf, weather, or other conditions outside our control; in that case, deposits are fully refundable or transferable to another date.
4. Assumption Of Risk
Surfing and ocean activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to drowning, collision, injury from waves, marine life, currents, the board, or other surfers. By participating, you acknowledge these risks and accept full responsibility for your participation. All participants (or a legal guardian for minors) will be asked to sign a liability waiver before entering the water.
5. Rental Equipment
You are responsible for any rented equipment from pickup to return. Damage beyond normal wear, loss, or theft of equipment will be charged at fair replacement cost. Boards must be returned by the agreed time; late returns may incur additional rental fees.
6. Health & Safety
You confirm that you are in good physical condition and have no medical condition that would make participation unsafe. Please disclose any relevant medical conditions before your session. Our instructors may decline service to anyone who appears unfit, intoxicated, or unwilling to follow safety instructions.
7. Media Release
Photos or videos taken by our staff during lessons may be used for promotional purposes on our website and social media. If you prefer not to be featured, please let your instructor know before your session begins.
8. Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Da Hui Surf School, its owners, employees, and instructors are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage to person or property arising from participation in our services, except where caused by gross negligence on our part.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Puntarenas Province.
